If I want more readers, then I should read more myself. If I want replies to messages, I need to put more comments out there. If I want to be stronger and fitter, then I need to make the effort to exercise regularly.
Of course some of these things seem logical. Other times sometimes our luck, or karma, seems to come about just at the right moment.
Lows and highs
Can you always have just a positive and happy life? Do you need a few crappy moments to realise when things are good?
Life has a way of throwing us some big hurdles. Breaking my leg was frustrating and heart breaking. It has also been a time to slow down. Review how things are going. Take a break (excuse the pun).
Being told I needed another operation felt like a blow to the positive steps I’d made in healing. I know it will help with the pain and the long term recovery but it means things aren’t fixed.
Just do it
Two days later, I got a message first thing in the morning, that was a huge pick me up. Some friends had an idea to do a long weekend in Copenhagen in July. By that evening I’d booked my flights, found somewhere to stay and the groups itinerary was sorted! I love it when a plan can come together so easily.
Good news beats bad news ten fold
The exhilaration of something to look forward to is such a remedy to feeling low. I suffer from anxiety. I’m programmed to be the best and when things start failing I’m not great at dealing with it.
I do recognise though that when I get a little win, I do really well to build on that.
One more small step for me, one huge leap for my confidence.
